How are the printed design selected?
Once approved in portfolio designs are open to public voting and to comments during two weeks (we reserve the right to extend this if necessary.) After this period designs are moved to the Gorillatank portfolio in the "voting closed section"; hottest designs can now be selected at anytime to be printed.
Who makes the final decision on which t-shirt gets produced?
While we welcome and appreciate input from professionals, the design community and/or potential buyers, Gorillatank.com is the ultimate decision maker.
Why should I become a member of the Gorillatank.com community – what's in it for me?
In addition to having more voting power, membership offers you the opportunity to earn discounts - even win money if you're a designer! Plus, as our community grows, you'll enjoy more benefits that we're planning on introducing.
Why do I have to sign up to vote?
It allows us to keep track of who voted already and on which design. One can vote many times on a specific design but only the last vote will count. Requiring registeration before voting helps us avoid duplicate votes on a single design – avoiding unfairness.
As voting is an important part of the GT community, we will keep it as fair as possible in order to give the website the highest level of objectiveness. We want you to be a part of the Gorillatank.com community. As your status in the community grows, you'll enjoy more voting power.
You refer to “seeds” on your membership page. What are seeds?
Seeds are the same as points – you accumulate them in various ways – by referring people to Gorillatank.com, by purchasing merchandise, by submitting designs and pictures – even by having a birthday! The more you participate, the more you earn.
OK, so I've accumulated all these seeds. Now what?
The following figures appear on your profile page when logged in.
Seeds to spend: refers to your store credit, to be used either for purchase or gift certificate. The rate being as follow: 10 seeds for £ 1.00 i.e.: if you have 120 total available seeds, you have £ 12.00 discount on your next purchase.
Total seeds: This figure can’t go down, it represents your History within the Gorillatank community, your total accumulated seeds: it corresponds to your status (i.e.: Lemur, baboon, orangutan, chimpanzee or gorilla) as illustrated below:
Why is it important to have a higher “status” within the Gorillatank.com community?
In addition to discounts, voting power and other benefits, earning a higher status like “Gorilla” also gives you added credibility and integrity - without any need to disclose personal info – when posting comments or critiquing graphic design on the website. See full discount table here.

2. Designer's contest – £ 420.00 prize
I just came up with a great design for a t-shirt. Why don't I market it myself?
Will anyone wear it, let alone buy it? At Gorillatank.com, we provide you with a forum that offers feedback – both from other designers as well as the people who might buy your graphic design talents. Plus, if your design is chosen, we'll offer it as a limited edition to our customers – providing you with £300 cash and £120 in store credit!
How to submit your design and promote it?
After registering with us, just go to the ‘submit page’ and follow the technical requirements (size, file format, number of colour etc…). 24h after submitting your design, Gorillatank will send you a confirmation email with a specific link to your design. Just copy and send this link to your friends – and don't forget to ask them to quote your user name when they register.
Referrals are the easiest way to earn seeds!
I'm new to t-shirt design – do I really have a chance of winning?
The originality, the feedbacks and the quality of the design will determine whether or not you win – it doesn't matter how long you've been doing it, it's really about how creative the design is – so go for it!
How much money can I make?
Initially each selected design will be printed at 228 units; we have decided to pay the author £300 cash and £120 in store credit. As we grow, and with your help, we are convinced we'll be able to double these figures.
Intellectual property protection – Copyright
At Gorillatank we take Intellectual Property very seriously, we never own copyrights on your design we just ask for rights of reproduction for a limited period of time. In return you will receive some royalties. Please read more about copyright issue in our terms and conditions page.
Why are Gorillatank t-shirts printed in Limited edition?
This is what makes Gorillatank T-shirts special, selected graphics are only printed 228 times. This number might increase slightly in the future but not much. The fact that this number is very low also supports our general concept...
The quicker we sell a t-shirt selection, the quicker we print a new one and therefore pay another designer…
What's the fabric like? American Apparel 100% combed cotton fabric
Fabric is part of what sets American Apparel apart from the competition. Our smooth, soft, 100% cotton fabrics have raised the bar. Men T-shirts are sized for two categories: men of all ages who desire a youthful fit and women of all ages who do not desire the form-fitting look of Classic Girls T, but refuse to wear the over-sized, unshapely T-shirts of the other leading brands. The Standard American line is designed in the same way T-shirts were in the '70s and '80s, when the Boomers were younger.
Women T-Shirts are designed for women of all ages who desire a youthful fit: the Medium/One Size (indicated by M/OS) fits approximately 80% of women.Source: American Apparel.
Note: American Apparel t-shirts are not prewashed, therefore they lose half a size when washed the first time. The chart below will help you selected the right size.

How do I place an order?
Warning: these t-shirts might severely increase your appeal
1- Find the visual you like in the shop section and click on it
2- You can now select the size and quantity you want to order
3- Click on “add to cart”
4- Click on “continue shopping” if you want to add an item to your order (step 2)
or click on check out to proceed to our secure payment system.
5-The check out process involve four steps, you will then receive an order confirmation via email.
6-When your order has been shipped a final confirmation email will be sent to you.

How secure is your website?
Gorillatank.com does not store nor have access to customer credit card information at any time. This information is directly transmitted to the bank via our secure payment gateway.
Personal information submitted to Gorillatank.com will stay at Gorillatank.com. Your information will not be disclosed to third parties and we guarantee to secure our server with up to date firewall and encryption techniques during the payment process.
A little lock at the bottom right of the page will help you recognise secure areas of Gorillatank.com and SSL (secure socket layers) encryption is an added online security tool available on our website.
I haven't received my order yet has it been shipped/processed ?
Once your order is processed we will send you a confirmation email. Usually in the next 24 to 48 hours following the order.
Can I change my order?
We do not hold your credit card information and are therefore unable to satisfy all requests i.e.: add a t-shirt, but what you can do is place a second order with the desired amount of Tee and then send us an email at accounts@gorillatank.com to cancel the previous order.
Attention: cancelling an order is only possible before it's been processed.
Where do you ship? Who should pay VAT?
We can ship anywhere there is a post office. Including the US.
